May 08, 2006 · Hello everyone, I have been trying to set up my FTP server for the past 2 days. I have gotten to a point where I can access my FTP server by typing "ftp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" into the address bar in my internet explorer, and the username and password prompt loads up. I enter the appropriate credentials and I am logged into my FTP server. I have tried to login to my ftp and it takes the user name but not the passowrd this happens Status: Connecting to *****:21 Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message Jan 10, 2012 · It looks to be an issue with my 2008 Server as i created a new FTP service on another 2008 server, redirected the ports to that server's IP and it started working fine. Sep 23, 2015 · Yes, the File Explorer method still works, but there's more to the IE method not working. I've had Windows 10 and IE 11 since about a week after Windows 10 availability. Using the View Pull down, Open FTP site in File Explorer method worked for me until just 3 days ago (on 11/04/15).

I thing we are talking about TFTP not FTP, as TFTP is UDP based, FTP TCP. Both are a bit troublesome trough firewalls. TFTP works like that, the first packet from the Client to the server (in your case from a switch to the tftp server) has a source port greater then 1023 (>1023) and a destination port of 69.
