My Buffalo WZR-600DHP With latest firmware Firmware Version DD-WRT v24SP2-MULTI (11/04/12) std - build 20180 will be my victim. This is the Buffalo factory dd-wrt firmware. Unless I am in error, the ability to log with the built in logging features appears to be crippled by the mfg., thus the reason I am looking to install the real full version.

I'd recommend Openwrt over DD-WRT. All known versions of the WZR-600DHP are supported. As of 14.07 there's a factory image available that can be flashed through the Buffalo firmware upgrade page.
